Hi all,
I need some advice on wood stain if there's anyone out there who can help.
I'm building a new wooden boat (to add to the '63 seacraft that I"m currently using) but the gaboon ply isn't nearly as dark a colour as I would like, even with a couple of coats of epoxy. I'm hoping to have a really dark look to the ply as a contrast to the silver quondong that makes up all the other components.

Timber used in skiff deck??????????

Hi guys,
Can someone give me a heads up on the timber used in building the decks on Lewis or Everingham skiffs, especially the side cockpit beams.
Would like to know the thickness of the deck ply and beams and the type of timber used to form the deck structure.

Help tracking down a old race boat

Hi im trying to track down or just find out if the boat Manatie (not to sure of the spellling) is still getting around i think it was a skiff. A old friend of mines dad used to own it and race it at Albert Park an i was talking to him the other day and we were wondering if it was still around so i just thought id put the question out there.

hey guys im looking at buying a powerglide set up for inboard.
any one got one or have an opinion ???

the main reason i want one is to pull skiers out when we race and the bonus of reverse to make life easy. im interested to know what you think of running an auto instead of soft cltch or dog clutch

There are a few marine manifolds on eBay at the moment. Holden 202 is at 280317964429 and another seller has a bunch of neat manifolds for Chrysler engines 280317965781 and there is some tidy BB Chev manifolds at 280317682450 and mounts at 280317681207.

AOMC American Motor Show

We are putting a few boats on show at the American Motor Show on the 5th of April. This is a great event, with over a thousand vehicles on show on the day. We attended last year and have been invited back again this year. The boats were really popular last year, offering the crowds something a bit different to look at.

restoring wooden boat

i have an old wooden power boat "Mossie" which i believe was built in Albury in the late 1960's.
it is plywood construction, but i have had part rot out, i am proposing to fibreglass the bottom but would like to keep the timber on the sides
it would be painted the same. would it still be classified as a wooden boat with the glass over the whole boat.
it is power by a holden red 186s engine which you can't kill, i have tried
any thoughts on the fibreglass...

Hi,
I spotted a cheap Stevens runabout on ebay at moment, very cheap. It's not a timber boat, but this era of Stevens boats featured prominently in circuit boat racing during the 70's, my dad had one. This boat looks like a nice example of that era. Last time I looked it was around $1600.

Bell Housings - Lexus V8 to Velvet drive / ZF

FYI, I am going to be working with Cassell Marine here in Sydney to produce a limited run of bell housings to adapt the Lexus Quad Cam V8 (1UZ-FE) to a velvet drive. I've been told the ZF box has the same mountings as a velvet drive so it should work for that too. If anyone is interested please give me a call on 0417 062 849 as we might be able to adjust the quantity and get better pricing.
