         I need some advice on wood stain if there&#39;s anyone out there who can help.

I&#39;m building a new wooden boat (to add to the &#39;63 seacraft that I&quot;m currently using) but the gaboon ply isn&#39;t nearly as dark a colour as I
would like, even with a couple of coats of epoxy. I&#39;m hoping to have a really dark look to the ply as a contrast to the silver quondong that makes up all
the other components.

Can someone give me a heads up on the timber used in building the decks on Lewis or Everingham skiffs, especially the side cockpit beams.

Would like to know the thickness of the deck ply and beams and the type of timber used to form the deck structure.

I spotted a cheap Stevens runabout on ebay at moment, very cheap. It&#39;s not a timber boat, but this era of Stevens boats featured prominently in circuit
boat racing during the 70&#39;s, my dad had one. This boat looks like a nice example of that era. Last time I looked it was around $1600.

FYI, I am going to be working with Cassell Marine here in Sydney to produce a limited run of bell housings to adapt the Lexus Quad Cam V8 (1UZ-FE) to a velvet
drive. I&#39;ve been told the ZF box has the same mountings as a velvet drive so it should work for that too. If anyone is interested please give me a call on
